"Diablo 2 Resurrected" has gained a reputation boost

Remastered graphics—monsters, heroes, items, spells, all resurrected. An epic story told through five distinct acts.

My first introduction to "feeding" was through Fate/Grand Order, which was initially made available on Japan in July 2015 and earned a total of 4 billion dollars worldwide in the year 2019. To make a character the best that it can be, I needed to obtain duplicates of each. If a certain banner came along I paid over 300 euros to obtain the 5-star character I had coveted since the beginning of time. However, I did not get the exact copies I required to realize the full potential of this character. With rates for the most valuable 5-star characters now being around 1percent, it's not a surprise that D2R Items I failed to obtain a duplicate of the character when I was enjoying the game (which I have since uninstalled). As of July 2021, Fate/Grand Order was the seventh highest grossing mobile game all time, and was ranked ahead of Konami's Puzzle and Dragons. The latter is, as I mentioned, is also a gacha game.

During an GDC 2021 speech, Genshin Impact developer Hoyoverse (previously Mihoyo) outright admitted that the way it created characters was to get the highest possible capital from its customers. Its Raiden Shogun as well as Kokomi character reruns in March 2022 alone earned the company more than $33 million in revenues.

The moment was immortalized through humorous memes and mockery, the majority of which stemmed from disappointing expectations of the public: Fans who attended BlizzCon 2018 were hoping for "Diablo 2 Resurrected" announcements. It also stemmed from the stigma that still surrounds gaming on mobile devices in the West in the United States, where the use of smartphones as a gaming platform is slower than in the majority in the rest of the world.

Since that time, "Diablo 2 Resurrected" has gained a reputation boost, since alpha and beta tests showed the game was an incredibly full-on old-fashioned Diablo experience. (It helped that Blizzard made the decision to release its game onto PC.) This Diablo series is one of the most influential of modern game design, introducing gameplay loops that focus on acquiring random "loot" to help your character become more strong. "Diablo 2", which has recently been remastered, cemented this loop. Likewise "Diablo 3," which Cheng was also working on, streamlined and evolved it.

Although the year 2018 was hard for Cheng and the team, he added that it only strengthened their resolve to prove "Immortal" an excellent game in the Diablo series, and its free-to-play launch on mobile brings the franchise to its biggest possible audience to date. The game launches on June 2.

Cheng's enthusiasm for the game was palpable in an interview with him. "I am convinced that Diablo 2 Resurrected' will make a difference in people's opinions on what they think of as an app for mobile devices," Cheng told The Washington Post. "That was our objectives from the beginning. Let's elevate the standards for what you can expect from the game on mobile."

"I have three kids and they're all teenagers and they don't make the same distinction between console, computer or mobile devices," Cheng said. "They have a passion for gaming across all kinds of platforms."

The game will be able to have simultaneous release on PC with full keyboard-and-mouse and buy D2R Items controller support, as well as cross progression and cross play with mobile support at launch. This was the result of a beta test when creators of gaming content said they'd like to emulate the game to showcase it on their stream According to Rod Fergusson, general manager of the Diablo franchise.
