What is the best way to use Amorolfine

Use Amorolfine and Loceryl as directed by your pharmacist. If you aren't sure, consult your doctor before you start to use Loceryl.

Apply Loceryl directly to the affected finger/toenail.

• Before you begin, make sure you have all the necessary items, including the nail file, cleanser, applicator, and Loceryl nail lacquer.
• Take one of the file packs and use it to begin to file down infected areas, including the nail surface.
• Use nail files that were used to infect nails on healthy nails only.
• To prevent infection spreading, never share your nail files.
• After you've done that, take one of your swabs out of your pack. Use the swab carefully to clean the nail.
• Each infected nail should be filed and cleaned separately
• After you are done filing and cleaning your nails, take out the applicator. Dip it in the Loceryl nail lacquer.
• Apply the Amorolfine nail varnish evenly to any infected nails.
• Avoid putting Amorolfine on your skin around the nails as it can cause irritation.
• Allow the nail to dry for three minutes in open air before covering it.
• Apply cosmetic nail varnish to the top of your nails by waiting at least 10 minutes following application of Amorolfine nail lacquer.
• After you are done, wash the applicator well and put it away until next time.
• Use the same swab to clean nails.
• Close the bottle tight and discard the swab after you're done. It is highly flammable.
• This process will be repeated once or twice per week.
• Remove any nail varnish and lacquer before you use Amorolfinel once more.
• Amorolfine nail varnish will dry completely and it will not react to soap or water. You can still wash your hands and feet as usual.
• Rubber gloves or covering your toenails are required if you use any kind of chemical or cleaning product.
• Keep using Amorolfine every other week until the infection is gone and your nails are healthy again.

It takes approximately 6 months to grow fingernails, and 9 to 12 to grow toenails. Don't be discouraged if you don't see any visible improvement. A nail grows only 2mm per month. 70% to 80% of people should see improvement after 6 months.

What are the recommended dosages?

Amorolfine nail varnish contains 5% amorolfine. You can choose from a pack of 2.5ml, 5ml and 7.5ml bottles or 10ml bottles.

Apply Amorolfine to the affected fingers or toenails one to two times per week, as directed by your pharmacist or doctor. Keep applying Amorolfine every other week or bi-weekly until the nail grows back to a healthy state (6-12 months).

You can forget to apply Amorolfine nail varnish on your normal day, so just start the process the next day.

What side effects can you expect from Loceryl or Amorolfine?

Amorolfine is a medication that can cause side effects. However, not all people who use Amorolfine nail polish will experience these side effects.

Loceryl and amorolfine can cause severe allergic reactions. Seek immediate medical attention if you have any of these symptoms:

• Difficulty in breathing
• Swelling of the lips, throat, tongue, or face;
• A severe skin rash.

Amorolfine can cause skin irritation in the area of the infected nails. To prevent this, you should be careful not to apply Amorolfine nail lacquer to your skin.

You may experience the following symptoms in rare cases (upwards of 1 in 1,000).

• Nail damage
• Nail discolouration;
• Bristle or fragile nails

You may feel a burning sensation in rare cases (less than 1 in 10,000)

Amorolfine: When should you not use it?

Even though Amorolfine nail varnish has fewer side effects than some medications, there are still cases where it is not safe to use.

• Children under 12 years old should not use Loceryl or Amorolfine.
• If you are pregnant, nursing or planning to become pregnant, you should not take Amorolfine.
• Loceryl should not be used if you have an allergy to amorolfine, or any other ingredients on the package.

Are there any interactions between Amorolfine and other medications?

Amorolfine nail varnish has not been shown to interact with any other medications. However, you should mention any medications or treatments that you are using when speaking to your pharmacist or doctor.

Amorolfine will not work with artificial nails. However, you can still use cosmetic nail polish after the lacquer has dried. Before applying Loceryl, wait at least 10 minutes.
