The UGC (University Grants Commission) recently granted permission to 38 universities to offer online courses, according to the National Education Policy 2020. Universities that have been recognised by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with a score of over 3.01 on a scale of 4 or are ranked in the top 100 of the National Institutional Ranking Framework are eligible for fully distance learning programmes, according to the UGC circular.
