EA Sports announced that not only will Jackson return to the sport as he hasn't played ever since Madden NFL 15 in 1987, but Jackson will also be awarded the privilege of being an official Madden cover athlete. About 35 years after his NFL career began around 1987 Jackson appears on a unique digital cover of Madden NFL 22. And beginning Friday, gamers will be able to play with him on the internet. EA Sports also teamed up with Nike to revive the sportswear company's famous Bo Knows ad campaign by adding a digitally rendered model of his signature footwear known as which is the Nike Air Bo Turf to the gaming.

Jackson is seventh running back named a Madden cover athlete, following Eddie George (Madden 2001), Marshall Faulk (Madden 2003), Shaun Alexander (Madden 2007), Peyton Hillis (Madden 12), Adrian Peterson and Barry Sanders (both Madden 25).

Prior to the unveiling of the cover, the Undefeated's Aaron Dodson caught up with Jackson to talk about the Tecmo Bowl days, how Bo Knows came to life in his Madden return, and much more.

What is it like for you to be an athlete who covers the game 35 years after you started your career?

The idea has been in the making off and on for years. The time had to be perfect for my brand. In collaboration with the Madden team to iron things out, make sure that all the dots are crossed, make sure that all the t's were crossed -Once we got that done, everything else was just going along with it.
