Two hospitals and central operating systems in New York were the targets of a cybersecurity attack over the weekend, according to local media reports.

The attack is believed to have involved Video Lottery Terminals (VLTs), operated by Everi Holdings on behalf of the New York Gaming Commission. Brad Maione, a spokesman for the New York Gaming Commission said: “On Tuesday, October 17, 2023, Everi, a licensed operator of the central New York gaming system, experienced a cybersecurity incident that remains under investigation. .
