If Diablo 4 gets that right and offers a similar loot system to that of D2R Items, then we're already concerned about how much time we're going to devote to the game. The disaster in Diablo 3 is the best chance that has ever happened to the franchise on a long-term basis. And when you add that and the Immortal controversy, it appears like Blizzard has a pretty straightforward roadmap of potholes to avoid if it's to remain in the good books of it's best players.

The Diablo 3 community has been vocal about what they don't like and has been for the entirety of the lifespan of Diablo 3, so we're hoping Blizzard will take that on board from those fortunate enough to have played large portions of the game pre-release. We'd wager that Blizzard isn't thrilled by the stream of leaked footage that seems to follow on the heels of the private test.

One feature that is part of Diablo 3 that is confirmed to return is the limited-time Seasons. These are essentially post-post-game pieces of content that change the ways legendary items function as well as remixing the content of the base game, adding replayability to a game that's already replayable. Seasons were available for a significant amount duration in Diablo 3, so we're hopeful that they'll become the main focus of Diablo 4.

This seasonal trend will also set Diablo 4 up to be another compelling Game Pass game, should the merger eventually close. A game such as Diablo that has solid gameplay is the perfect match for a service specifically designed to allow gamers to return to the live game after short period of. But considering that the game is due to release in June and the fight for what the future holds for Activision remains in the midst, this is one title that is very unlikely to receive Game Pass treatment on D2R Ladder Items.
