Eligibility Criteria To Become An IMechE Associate Member

To become an IMechE Associate Member, you need to be a graduate with an undergraduate degree in science, technology, engineering or maths (STEM) subject.

Requirements:

IMechE membership as an Associate Member is for a graduate, as told above, who has a degree in a science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM) subject. In addition, the candidate needs to satisfy one of the following criteria:

  • Have an undergraduate degree having accreditation from IMechE
  • Possess a UK undergraduate engineering degree
  • Have undergraduate maths, physics, or another related science degree
  • Possess an international engineering degree fulfilling IMechE’s academic requirements
  • Have an Open University undergraduate degree with an acceptable profile

Unfortunately, qualifications that are not comparable to a British bachelor’s degree (Level 6) or above (such as HNCs, HNDs, and Foundation degrees) don’t fulfill the academic requirements for the designation of an Associate Member.
